The Melchizedek Key

Introduction

I was always one of those “why” kids.  When somebody at church said we believed something, I wanted to know why we believed it.  I didn’t just want to know that we believed it and that was the end of the story.  So, when I heard about tithing, I asked, “Why?” I began looking at God’s Word and I studied and read.  I guess my dad named me right when he named me Stewart. Even though my name is Stewart, he calls me Steward.  Stewart means steward.  In the Bible, your name was significant to what God called you to do.  It just happens that stewardship is one of the things into which God has given me insight and spoken to me to share with the Body of Christ, so they too will know, “why”.

If you are a tither, you have certain rights and privileges that will work in your life that can’t happen any other way.

If you are a tither, you have certain rights and privileges that will work in your life that can’t happen any other way.  You can’t pray and get the tithing blessing.  You can’t fast and get the tithing blessing.  You can’t attend church and get the tithing blessing.  You can roll in the floor and shout and have a great big time with God, but there are certain things that simply are not going to happen to you and for you – saved as you may be – filled with the Spirit as you may be – until you begin to obey God in this area and make a quality decision to obey Him in the tithe.   If you are not obeying God and doing what God has asked, commanded and required us to do and you want Him to bless you with the blessings of the tither, there is no pastor, no pope, nobody anywhere that can give you that blessing.

God knows that there are certain rewards and promises that He gives us as incentives to cause us to want to be tithers, and He’s no fool; He promises rewards with tithing, but we need to find out what those things are.  When you bring the tithe, there are rewards that are yours for bringing to God what is His and acknowledging in your life that the tithe is God’s.  When you bring God what is His, then everything else you have is blessed.  When you obey God in the area of tithing there are things that you can be assured of that you cannot be assured of as long as you are not obeying God in this area of your life.

The book of Malachi gives us five distinct blessings that are activated by tithing.

The book of Malachi gives us five distinct blessings that are activated by tithing.  Each of these forms a chapter for you to explore in the book.  Activating these blessings in your life is the key to living daily in the abundance of the Kingdom of God.  I call these five blessings:

  • An Open Heaven
  • Perpetual Blessing
  • A Rebuked Devourer
  • Fertile Ground
  • Unhindered Fruit

I pray you will come to understand the principles in this book and let them go to work for you and your family.
